happy new year

Happy new year, all! I know that technically it’s winter (at last! Feels like i’s been here forever.). I need to start a new journal page and all. But for now, this one will do.I’ve been away for most of the past season — a week in Hawaii, where it was warm and pleasant; three weeks in California, where it wasn’t as warm as you would think, but it was pleasant. Now that I’m back in the studio, I’m trying to catch up with everything.

A not-so-short list: There are Lover’s Path Tarot limited edition orders awaiting to be shipped, placed by supportive customers during my time away. I’m also tying up more threads on the anniversary reissue of The Book of Goddesses; first proofs arrived from the printer, and the book jacket needs to be designed and finalized. The publicist at Abrams has just sent off review copies of The Lover’s Path, along with press releases; I have some follow up to, well, follow up on. There’s also book signings to finetune the details on. I’ve started a new project, which will tie into the anniversary edition of The Book of Goddesses. That written, it’s too soon to leak any of the details here.

On top of all this, there’s my daughter, Thea. She’s just adorable, but as she gets older, she is more and more into everything. I’m thankful she’s so active and curious — a beautiful healthy little girl — but it’s becoming harder to get work accomplished if I’m on childcare duty. Once again, I need to create passive streams of income, so I don’t have to work so many hours. Book royalties are good, as are website income, and more.

I think this will be my focus in 2006.
