Thanks, Christina and Vicky! The hard part about writing about music is making it not too purple and actually interesting to someone who hasn’t heard the piece. FWIW, the moment which my heroine describes as “building to a climax of intensity and speed” comes at the eight minute mark. It’s pretty overwhelming. Can’t help but wonder what Schubert was thinking of.

I’ve been to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum as well and wholeheartedly agree that it is a great place for inspiration! The beautiful surroundings also offer a great place for lunch – the restaurant there is fantastic.
